Eva Geneva Goforth House, 99, 19 days short of 100, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2015 in Alpine, Tex. attended by her son, Sam House.

Mrs. House signed a “Declaration for a natural death” many years ago so medical personnel did not prolong her life by artificial or heroic means.

Mrs. House was preceded in death by her parents, Giles and Salena Goforth, her first husband, Edward House; her second husband, Roy Harwell; one son, Marvin House; one granddaughter, Sherry House; daughter-in-law, Lisa House; seven sisters and brothers and nine nieces and nephews.

In her younger days living in Lincolnton Mrs. House served as youth fellowship director at First Presbyterian Church, was worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was Commander of the Auxiliary at American Legion Post 30 and worked with the Lincolnton Lions Club on many projects. She belonged to ‘Whispering Pines’ home extension club where she enjoyed making ceramics and socializing.
