Pilots of the 353rd - photo from military archives on Fold3.com published in Albuquerque newspaper with following caption: "AGNEW, TOO--Lt. William M. Agnew Jr., 115 Se. Hermosa, second from right, is taking an active part in the terrific air offensive against the Reich. Agnew is shown here with fellow Mustang pilots of the 8th AAF after escorting a huge fleet of heavies against an oil plant at Bohlen. the mutual congratulations are for the five German fighters knocked out of the sky by the American airmen on the trip." LT William M. Agnew of the 350th Ftr Sq, 353rd FG. He served with the group from 29 October 1944 to 9 July 1945 and was credited with 1 probable 'kill.' He died in a flying accident somewhere in Germany in August 1945.
