AGE 92 YEARS
Clare (Dunn) Hern of West Roxbury, died peacefully at her home on January 17, 2017.
Married for over sixty years to the late David A. Hern.
She was the mother of David and his wife Janet of Norwood,
Stephen and his wife Jeanne of Walpole,
Joseph and his wife Deborah of Quincy,
Mary of West Roxbury,
Christopher and his wife Kathleen of West Roxbury,
Andrew and his wife Margaret of West Hartford, CT, and
Daniel and his wife Kristen of Milton,
the grandmother of sixteen, and the great-grandmother of ten.
Clare was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Mary (Borges) Dunn, the sister of Lawrence Dunn, Flora Dunn, Mary McCarthy, Helen Driscoll, Ruth True, Robert Dunn, Daniel Dunn, John Dunn, and William Dunn, all of whom predeceased her.
A 1945 graduate of Regis College, Clare remained devoted to that institution her entire life.
Originally from Dorchester, where they were in the same grade at St. Peter's Grammar School, Clare and David settled in West Roxbury in 1956 and were active in St. Theresa of Avila Parish from then until the end of their lives.
