Helen T. (nee Lyszczasz) Sarnicki, 89, died on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway.
She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Magdalene (nee Krol) Lyszczasz and Franciscus Lyszczasz. Helen resided in Elizabeth until 1952, when she moved to Linden.
The staples in her life were her Catholic upbringing and devotion and her membership at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Linden, New Jersey. The most important cornerstone of her life however, was her family.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Walter John Sarnicki, on Wednesday, March 30, 1988, She is survived by her sons, John Sarnicki, James Sarnicki and his wife, Renee and Robert Sarnicki and his wife, Jane; her sister, Bertha Shenk; her grandchildren, Jason Sarnicki, Sheryl Sarnicki, Steven Sarnicki, Joseph Sarnicki, Jessica Sarnicki, Caitlin Sarnicki, Connor Sarnicki and Sarah Grace Sarnicki; and her 2 great-grandchildren, Madelyn Sarnicki and Brielle Sarnicki.
Visitation was offered on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden, NJ 07036. A gathering of family and friends was officiated in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 8:30 AM where a funeral service was arranged at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass conducted at 10 AM in Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 220 East Blancke Street, Linden, NJ 07036. Interment followed at 11:30 AM by the family plot in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.
