He was youngest boy of 11 siblings.
Vernon grew up knowing the value of hard work and savings.
He married the love of his life, Ruby at age 19 and spent the next 63 years together raising children, cattle and hogs. To make ends meet he would also work in logging and ran a sawmill.
Vernon and his son, Yeona decided to go into business together and opened Chambers Slaughter House and operated it for 35 years.
With a love for hunting and armed with the best dogs in the tri-state area, Vernon was feared by Raccoon's everywhere.
He was a good natured person who was always straight to the point. Quick witted he always loved a good joke. Often, Vernon would sit and tell tall tales of growing up in the mountains (some of which have gotten just a little bit better over time).
