He was born in Culp, Arkansas on October 7, 1922 and was the son of Walter Burley and Susan (Martin) Freeman.
He was a retired welder and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Roy served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include daughters, Jo Anne Zieske of Calico Rock and Cheryl Newsom and husband, Charlie, of Mountain Home; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother, Claude Freeman (Anna Mae) of Culp; and sisters, Marie Beavers of West Plains, Missouri, Mary Lou Yoder (Arlin) of Wellman, Iowa, and Ruth Franklin (Gary) of Sherwood, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Stepmother Alice Freeman, wife, Ruby Freeman; an infant son, Kenneth Freeman, and Stepbrother, Royce Seawright. Roller-Crouch Funeral Home, Melbourne, Arkansas.
