She married Jeff Grady HICKS, Jr. and to that union, three daughters were born: Melanie Lynn, Dustin Gayle and Aleta Anne. [Aleta was born 12 SEP 1954 in Ector, TX.] She and Jeff divorced (about 1964) while living in Yuma, Arizona.
She then married Thomas S. "Tommy" Krone about 13 JUN 1964 in San Bernardino, California. This was brief and there were no children. Both worked for Phoenix Title & Trust Company prior to the marriage.
While living in Yuma, Virginia sang and performed with Sweet Adelines.
Her third husband (about 1966) was William C. "Bill" BOND. They moved from Yuma to Wellton, Arizona, and the following year to El Centro, California. Bill and Virginia had one child, a son, Devon BOND, who was born 12 NOV 1967. Bill sold insurance for New York Life. He also farmed in Wellton, Arizona and El Centro, California. They moved again settling in beach community in southern California (Ocean Beach?)
This marriage ended in divorce in Madera, California [California divorce records list dates of NOV 1977 and 28 MAR 1980.] Devon was visiting his father, and Bill was flying him home when the plane crashed. Both were killed in the crash. Bill had been married prior to his marriage to Virginia and had children from that marriage.
Virginia and Noel Storts were married FEB 1984 in Modesto, California. They relocated and settled in LaPine, Oregon. Noel had been previously married and had children from his first marriage.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Telford Alexander Bankston and Rosa Inez HARRIS Bankston; her brothers Phillip Telford BANKSTON, Penn Dewey BANKSTON, and Wayne BANKSTON, all of Louisiana; her son Devon BOND (1967 - ??); and her daughter Dustin Gayle HICKS Crockett (1952-2008)
She is survived by daughters Melanie (Charles) Westrom and Aleta (Ronnie GRIFFITH) HICKS, of El Centro, California; and numerous grandchildren.
