He was the son of the late Roy and Eva Inman Ammons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Rhinehart Ammons and a sister, Rose Ammons. Ray was employed by Ammons Drive Inn for 20 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Marty Ammons of Lawrenceville, Georgia and two brothers, Charles Ammons and his wife, Dorothy, of Waynesville and Roger Ammons and his wife, Kathy of Sylva, NC.
