Jesse was born in Terraville, South Dakota on April 23, 1892.

Jesse's parents were Joseph & Rose Civretto whom immigrated to the United States from the Piedmonte region of Northwestern, Italy. Jesse's father Joseph died when Jesse was only 5 years old. Jesse worked at the Homestake Mine in Lead, SD to help his family being he was the oldest son. Jesse's siblings included: sister Mary Terese b 1894, Martin Joseph b 1896 and Joseph b. 1897.

Jesse moved to Butte to work for the Anaconda Company. He lived in Meaderville. Jesse married Clara Caselli in Butte, MT in 1916. He registered for the WW1 draft in 1917.

Jesse and Clara had 2 children born in Silver Bow County, Montana: Rose born June 2, 1917 and Frances Marie born Oct 28, 1918. Jesse and family moved to the Oakland, California area in the late 1920s.

In the photo at right taken in about 1921, Jesse is seen in the front holding is youngest daughter Frances; his oldest daughter Rose is standing on the bottom left side of the photo. Jesse's wife Clara is in the middle row wearing a hat. Jesse's brother Martin is sitting next to Jesse on the bottom right.

Jesse died in Oakland, California on August 12, 1938 at the young age of 46. Jesse's wife Clara lived until 1989.
