Marlin David James, 75, passed away Wednesday, November 02, 2016, at his residence in Tiplersville. Services will be on Saturday, November 5 at 2 PM at County Line Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Friday, November 4 from 5 PM to 9 PM at County Line Baptist Church. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery. The Ripley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born February 9, 1941 in Kossuth, MS, he was the son of the late Ernest and Bertha Elam James. Mr. James married the former Betty Barnes in 1956. He was Director of Maintenance and Safety for Signal Delivery of Atlanta until his retirement in 1993. He will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman that was known for breeding hunting beagles and shared his compassion with others for all living things. Mr. James was a dedicated family man who passed his life's values directly to his most beloved treasures: his family and friends.

Visitation will continue Saturday at County Line Baptist Church until service time.

Those also left to cherish his memory are his children Debbie Rutherford (Terry) of Horn Lake and Ray James (Mae) of Flintstone, GA, 8 grandchildren, Tammy Lawson, Christina Bell, Mandi Shankle (Blake), Tiffany Brinson, David (Christian) and Heather James, Patrick and Nicholas Patterson, 11 great grandchildren, Nolan and Ryan Wilbanks, Breanna Zyla, Hunter Sowell, Robbie Dye, Jerry Bell, Kaydance and Madison Shankle, Ava Brinson, Andreas and A.J. James. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Patterson, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

There was no greater mission for him than to pass his values and traditions on to his loving family: Honesty, Integrity and THE WORD.
