Garth Aslett
Garth Aslett, age 74, died Sunday, Sept. 2-0, 1998 at Twin Falls Clinic of natural causes after a brief illness.
He was born in Lava Hot Springs, the 14th child of David and Elizabeth Aslett. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edith, and four children; Gary Aslett of Columbus, Ohio, Connie Wismer of Sun Valley, Beverly Aslett Schiffler of Twin Falls and Jeffrey Aslett of Fruitland. He was preceded in death by one son, Phillip. He has three surviving brothers, Artell Aslett and Dale Aslett, both of Twin Falls, and Worthing Aslett of San Antonio, Texas. Their marriage union produced 25 grandchildrena and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was married in 1943 and served in World War II as a Marine in the South Pacific. After the war, he joined with his father and brothers to form Aslett Construction Company, which grew to be the second largest road construction company in Idaho during it prime. He was a man of honor, respected by all who knew him and dearly loved by his large family.
A service for Garth will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at White Mortuary.
