She was the daughter of the late Zachary and Ruby Rickman Hooper. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas “Tommy” Fleetwood Burnette, who died in 1981.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, John Thomas; four daughters, Teresa Montgomery of Waynesville, Pamela Phillips of Rock Hill, SC, Donna Chambers of Asheville, and Sherry Burnette-Taylor of Jacksonville, FL; one son, Michael Montgomery of Chester, SC; one sister, Carol Ann Horsman of Clover, SC; two brothers, Sammy Hooper of Maggie Valley and Bobby Hooper of TN.
