Barbara Jean Hoffmeyer the daughter of Harold and Gertrude (Conlon) Marriott was born July 20, 1945 in Estherville, Iowa. She passed away on October 17, 2016 at her home in Estherville at the age of 71.
She was a 1963 graduate of Estherville High School.
On July 26, 1964, Barb was united in marriage to her soul mate Lonnie Hoffmeyer in Jackson, Minnesota. They lived in Estherville where she worked in the laundry department at Holy Family Hospital. After retiring, she also did some babysitting and was an in-home caregiver. She was not one to sit around and loved to walk with friends for exercise or do yard work. She enjoyed bowling in her earlier years. She loved to antique and was a collector of many things. She did some quilting, cross-stitching, sewing and loved working on puzzles. She liked to travel with her late husband and explore new places.
Left to cherish Barb's memory are her sisters, Carrol Cone of South Paris, Maine; Katie and David Larson of Afton, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Nancy Marriott of Kellogg, Iowa; Sandra Mixell of Fulda, Minnesota; Joy and Chuck Zwiebahmer of Milford, Iowa; cousin, Lea and Lyle Bishop of Fairmont, Minnesota; nieces; nephews and many friends.
She has been preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonnie; sister, Kathleen; brother, Dale; brothers-in-law, Merrit Hoffmeyer and wife, Evie; William Hoffmeyer and wife, Era and aunt, Alice Clancy.
