Following graduation, Nora met and married Russell Ackerman. The couple made their home in Park Rapids, MN, where Russell worked as the Sheriff. While in Park Rapids, Nora worked as the "Deputy Sheriff", cleaning, cooking, and taking care of the inmates. Nora and Russell then moved to Hastings, MN, where they owned and operated the Twin Kiss Restaurant. Nora and Russell were blessed with two daughters, Judy and Shirley. In July of 1963, Russell passed away.
On May 10, 1974, Nora and Harold Bergseth were married at the Grace Lutheran Church in Correll, MN. The couple made their home near Ortonville, MN.
In her free time, Nora enjoyed working in her garden and tending to the plants and flowers. Nora cherished canning and preserving the goods she grew in her garden. Nora also treasured her quiet time spent crocheting and taking care of her home. She loved to spend time with family and friends and will be truly missed.
Nora passed away Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Appleton Municipal Hospital in Appleton, MN, reaching the age of 87 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Russell; sister, Neola Bakeberg; brother, Bertrum Winger; brothers-in-law, Art, Lester, Chester, Lawrence and Marvin Bergseth; sisters-in-law, Alice Bergseth and Luella Phillips.
Nora is survived by her husband, Harold and daughters, Judy (Ackerman) Finnerty and husband Jerry of Excelsior, MN; and Shirley (Ackerman) Wold and husband Bob of Mankato, MN; grandchildren, Ann Finnerty; Tony Finnerty; Sarah Heuer and husband Jed; and Jenny Goff and husband Alex; great-grandchildren, Blake Wold and Jack Heuer; brother, Robert Winger; sister, Marian Schwandt; brothers-in-law, Ed and Homer Bergseth; sister-in-law, Murial Olson, Hazel Bergseth, Lorraine Bergseth, Arvilla Bergseth and Delores Bergseth; as well as many other family and friends.
