Rose Hill - Shelby Jean Batts Boone, 79, of Rose Hill passed away at her home Friday, September 30, 2016. Mrs. Boone was born November 24, 1936 in Duplin County to the late Wayne Batts and Rosa Vel Carter Batts.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Wallace Church of God on the Bay Road in Wallace. Burial in Duplin Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 6-8pm at Community Funeral Home of Rose Hill.

Mrs. Boone is survivor by sons, Johnny Boone and wife, Karen, Stephen Boone, Terry Boone and wife, Gail and Jeffery Boone and wife, Tammy all of Rose Hill; daughters, Vickie Jean Ezzell and husband, Sherwood of Rose Hill, Diann Orlowski and husband, Kenneth of Lake Orion, MI; brothers, Horace Batts of Beulaville and Royce Batts of Raleigh; sisters Gloria Raynor of Fountaintown, Arlene Price of Jacksonville, Carolyn Price of MI and Patricia Mobley of Surf City; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boone was preceded in death by husbands, Norwood Boone and Herbert Boone; brothers, Winfred Batts and Joseph Batts; sisters, Eunice Gurganus and Geneva Smith.
