Funeral services for Talmadge Farmer, 83, of Ashburn, GA will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 15 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. Mr. Farmer passed away Monday at this residence following an extended illness. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The son of the late Roy Milton and Pauline Bruton Farmer, Sr., he was born in Turner County, GA. He was retired farm manager for Superior Turf and was a member of The Trinity Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Army and loved to fish and watching NASCAR racing.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dot Ward Farmer of Ashburn, his children, Kim Farmer of Cordele, Tim (Loraine) Farmer of Rebecca and Michelle (Glen “Elmo”) Pitts of Sycamore. His sister, Lucille Brooks of Punta Gorda, FL and his brother, Robert (Avie) Farmer of Sycamore. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph (“T.J.”) Farmer (Toni), Desiree McCoy (Wiley), Jenna Pitts and Dusti Pitts. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends, Thursday from 1:00 PM until the hour of services at Perry Funeral Chapel.

The family request that donations may be made to The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
