Born in Hughes Springs, Cass County, March 3, 1876, Mr. Fite was 74 years, nine months and 26 days of age. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Fite. He attended public schools in Call County and came to Moran in 1890, where he lived until 1897. There he married to Artie Mecia Parish on Feb. 21, 1897. Mr. and Mrs. Fite came to Albany where they lived until 1910, going to Spur, where they resided until 1919. Returning to Albany, they resided here until 1942, when they moved to Lueders, where they had resided since.
Mr. Fite was a rancherman, cattle dealer, and had operated meat markets and at one time sold insurance. He was a member of the Baptist Church since 12 years of age, belonged to the I.O.O.F. Lodge and was always interested in local civic groups.
