Mildred Doris Benningfield of Leander, Texas, passed away on June 24, 2016. She was born in Austin, Texas on August 28, 1935 to Willie and Edna Simons. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband, Edward for over 57 years until his death in 2010. Mildred and Edward had been together since elementary school. Mildred was also preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Ava.

Mildred will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved and cherished her family, devoting her life to the care of her many family members.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her two sons, Coy and Troy, and daughter, Delila, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in the chapel of the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Connie Simons, Jr. officiating the service with a reception to follow in the Southwestern Room at the funeral home. The burial will follow at the Bagdad Cemetery in Leander, Texas.
