Edward Coy Benningfield of Leander, Texas, born on March 17, 1934, lost his battle to cancer on September 17, 2010. He was born in Austin, Texas on March 17, 1934 to Geroge and Mattie Benningfield.

Edward was a dedicated and loving husband to Mildred for over 57 years, his one true love since the young age of eight. He was a hard working provider and a teacher to his children. He taught his family how to love, laugh, and live life to its fullest. He was a loving, caring, compassionate and generous man who always had a smile on his face and joke to share.

Those left behind to cherish his memory is his Mildred (pictured above); his son Coy and wife Kathleen, and their two children Lauren and Rory; his son Troy and his three children Jay, Ross, and Brad; his daughter Delila Hill and her four children Mildred, Debra, Mattie, and Joseph; and his daughter Ava Benningfield-McDonnell and her husband Shawn and their three children Brandie, Bob, and Tommy. He was also survived by his 22 precious great-grandchildren. Edaward is preceeded in death by his mother Mattie, father George, and grand-son, Dennis. We love you Daddy, you will be dearly missed.

The family will receive guest from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 in the afternoon on Monday, September 20, 2010 in the chapel of the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Inturnment to follow at the Baghdad Cemetery in Leander.
