Oliver Alexander Bonner, son of Dr. John Bonner and Eliza Feribry Williams, was born 2 August 1838 in Dallas Co., AL. (Source - His CSA pension application gives birthplace as Dallas Co., AL) He was called Ol or Old Ol to distinguish him from other Oliver Bonners. After coming to Freestone Co., TX with his parents, he farmed and operated a sawmill and cotton gin at Stewards Mill, Freestone Co., TX. During the Civil War he served as Sergeant, Company D, 10th Regiment, Texas Infantry. Ol never married. During his later years he made his home with his brother Irvine Hale Bonner and family in Fairfield. Oliver Alexander Bonner died 30 September 1924 in Fairfield, Freestone Co., TX.
