Mrs Evelyn Atwell 25, died at the family residence in San Angelo Wednesday morning, December 24, at 6:53, after a lingering illness. The body was brought overland by Vaultrain funeral coach of San Angelo.
Funeral service was held at the First Baptist church Thursday afternoon, December 25, at five o'clock with Rev R. L. Denton, pastor of bethel Baptist church of San Angelo, officiating assisted by Rev. H. M. Weldon, pastor of the First Baptist church of Albamy. Burial was in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of J.L. Castleberry, local funeral director.
A native of shackelford county Evelyn Fisher was born July8, 1916, at Ft. Griffin, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from the Albany high school in 1934 and in 1937 she moved with her parents to San Angelo. On November 14, 1940, she was married to D.C. Atwell of San Angelo.
She united with the Bethel Baptist church last June and has been a loyal and faithful member and a devoted Christian.
