James Arthur Hawks, 77, died at his home in Hillsville, May 29. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alie Emaline Hawks three sons, Otis Hawks, Oceana Curtis Hawks, Brenton, W. Va. Arlys Hawks, Hillsville four daughters, Mrs.Hassle Miller, Brenton, W. Va. Mrs. Gladys Bowman, Greensboro, N. C. Mrs Ruby Brady, Laurel Fork Mrs. Claudia Bottoms, Pinnscle, N. C. two brothers, George Hawks, Ararat Erbie Hawks, Baltimore two sisters, Mrs. Rose Bowman, Brenton, W. Va. Mrs. Maude Russ, Concord, N. C. four half brothers, Floyd Hawks, Fancy Gap Victor, Alex and Arnold Hawks, all of Martinsville a half sister, Mrs. Elsie Shuman, of Pennsylvania. Funeral was Thursday at 1:30 pm. at Rome Baptist Church. Burial was in the family ceme­
tery. '
