Eliza Ann was the first child of John and Abigail [Frasier] Christy.
Eliza's parents were married in Rowan County, North Carolina on Feb 23, 1816. They soon relocated to Davies County, Indiana, where Eliza was born on Apr 29, 1817.

Eliza married in Monroe County, Indiana, on Christmas Day, 1834, when she was seventeen. Her husband, George Burch, was the nineteen year old son of William and Elizabeth [Ritter] Burch. George and Eliza lived the rest of their life in Greene County IN, where George was a farmer.
According to the 1900 Census, Eliza had 14 children. According to other sources she had as few as ten. Twelve of the children attributed to her are listed below:

Eliza's husband George died about 1890 when he was 75. Eliza survived him another decade and lived long enough to see most of her children predecease her. According to the 1900 census only four of her fourteen children survived. Eliza was living with five of her orphaned grandchildren in 1900. She died the following January at the age of 83.
