Shadrach Chitwood is noted (Shadrack 153-42) in the book "Descendants of Matthias Chitwood" on page 174. Son of John Riley Chitwood (buried in front of Shadrack) & Barbara Cassel, husband of Melissa Marsh-Chitwood (buried beside Shadrack) in Felton Cemetery, Richland Co WI. Several of his 9 children and the generations that follow are buried here at Felton.

Born 1/3/1823, Died 1/14/1898.

In the photo to the left, and as you look at it, Shadrack is on the left and his son in law Timothy Morris Sheffield, son of Luke, and who married Shadrack's oldest daughter Barbara Jean Chitwood-Sheffield, is on the right.

Shadrack has Land Patents on file with the Bureau of Land Management for property in Sylvan Township north and nor west of where he is buried in Akan Township Felton Cemetery. Records show that on 3/10/1857 Shadrach Chitwood acquired 240 acres in Township Sylvan 11N 2W at Section 27 SW 1/4 and Section 28 E 1/2 of SE 1/4. He also acquired on that day 240 acres with his brother in law Stephen B Marsh in Township Sylvan 11N 2W at Section 29 SW 1/4 and Section 29 W 1/2 of SE 1/4.
