Dominick J. Amoroso Age 98, of North Hills, Wilmington, passed away Monday morning, April 10, 2000 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Amoroso was born in Italy on October 16, 1901 to the late Giacomo & Rosina (Fortino) Amoroso. He came to the United States when he was 10 years old and began working for the Penna. Railroad at age 16. Upon completing his education, he became an accountant for the railroad and retired after 50 years of service.

Mr. Amoroso was a long standing member of St. Helena's R.C. Church and was an altar server until the age of 90, having been featured in a News Journal article. He was a former member of the Sons of Columbus and also played guitar in a local band several years ago.

His wife of 50 years, the former Dora L. Ciani, passed away January 7, 1982 and his son, D. Nicholas Amoroso, passed away October 22, 1999.

Mr. Amoroso is survived by his daughters, Rose Marie A. DeNest, Joanne L. Reese and Theresa L. Amoroso, all of Wilmington; his sons-in-law & daughter-in-law, Joseph DeNest and Stanley Reese, both of Wilmington and Diane G. Amoroso of MD; his sisters, Margaret Olivere & Eleanor Green, both of Wilmington; and several nieces & nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Helena's R.C. Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike on Friday morning, April 14 at 10:45 a.m. Visitation will be held in church beginning at 9:45 a.m. Interment will follow Mass in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Ashland
