Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Stephen Campanella of Cranston, Gary Campanella of California, Nancy Scorpio and her husband Anthony of Cranston and Christine Woodbine and her husband Robert of Saunderstown. He was also the grandfather of 12, great grandfather of 5, dear brother of Armando “Sam” Campanella of Cranston and Dorothy Palombo of North Providence. He was also the father of the late Mary Patricia Campanella and father-in-law of the late Joanne Campanella.
Mr. Campanella was a graduate of Providence College, class of '42, and remained an avid PC Friars basketball fan for life. He was a Medical Assistant in the Army during World War II. He was an active member of the Serra Club, President of the Board of the Federal Hill House Association, and a member of the R.I. Industrial Building Authority. He was a member of Metacomet Country Club for 30 years.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Visiting hours will be 9 - 10 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mark’s Church, Cranston. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
