HARRY I. BESECKER, 59, Waynesboro R. D. 2, was pronounced dead on arrival at the
Waynesboro Hospital at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. He collapsed while at work at W. B. Thompson
Co. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mr. Besecker was born in Quincy Township February 5, 1908, a son of Emmanuel C. and Mary
Hartman Besecker.
All of his life had been lived in Quincy Township. For a short time he was employed at
Landis Machine Co. He later farmed for John Benedict at Quincy and for 16 years he worked
at the Harold Hawbaker orchards, Waynesboro R. D. 2.
Mr. Besecker had been employed by the Thompson company since October.
He attended the Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church and was a member of the Fraternal
Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Frances L. Stoops Besecker, Harrisburg; these children,
Mrs. Huber Mentzer, Waynesboro R. D. 1; Curtis I. Besecker, Waynesboro R. D. 4; Mrs.
Lois Rosenberry and Mrs. Dorothy Harmon, both of Waynesboro, and Miss JoAnn Besecker, at
home.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; his parents of
Waynesboro R. D. 1, and these brothers and sisters, Mrs. Nettie Tosten, John H. Besecker,
George D. Besecker, Mrs. Samuel Misner and Mrs. Clem Sanders, all of Waynesboro R D. 1;
Mrs. Ralph Patterson, Chambersburg; Benjamin Besecker, Waynesboro; Mrs. Leo Fleagle,
Waynesboro R. D. 2, and Mrs. Alex Horwath, Wayne Heights.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge, of
the Rev. Ralph Wenger. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
There will be no viewing.
