Versa Rauls Tanner, 92, Herbine Native, Dies at Pine Bluff
Versa Rauls Tanner, aged 92, of Pine Bluff, formerly of Cleveland County, died Saturday, Feb 25, at the Arkansas Convalescent Center in Pine Bluff. She had lived at Pine Bluff the last 15 years and was the widow of Frank Tanner, who died in 1959.
Born in the Herbine community near Rison on July 14, 1902, she was a daughter of the late Roe Rauls and Maggie Hanes Rauls.
She was reared and received her early educationtion Herbine. She later lived for many years at Little Rock, where she owned and operated Tanner's Cafe.
She was a member of Pulaski Heights Methodist Church at Little Rock.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Jack Rauls, in 1990.
Survivors include two grand-children (Jackie Rauls and Freda Haynie) and five great grand-children (Keith, Kevin and Kara Haynie, and John and Jason Rauls).
Funeral services were held Monday at the chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home in Pine Bluff, conducted by Tim Goodman. Burial was in Pinecrest Cemetery near Little Rock by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home.
