Ola Wells Gaines, 93, of Palestine, Texas died July , 1990 in Memorial Hospital in Palestine. Burial was in Guiceland Cemetery at Salmon. She was born June 22, 1897, in Ione, Arkansas, a daughter of John Shelby Wells and Itasca T. "Ida" Cox Wells. She was a member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ. She was predeceased by her husband, James Hiram Gaines on Sept. 6, 1937, and a daughter, Leona Gaines, in 1936. She is survived by two daughters, Opal Denman of Grapeland, and Billie Sue Owens of Palestine; one son, George Gaines of Grapeland; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
