Joan Christenson, age 90, of St. Joseph who passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Benedicts Senior Community in St. Cloud.

Entombment will take place at North Star Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Joan was born on April 11, 1926 in Lamberton, Minnesota to Albert and Louise (Heydlaff) Albertson. She was raised on the family farm and was married to Vernon Christenson. They moved to St. Paul then to St. Cloud. They owned and operated Eddy's Drive In, and in 1961 received the right to franchise Kentucky Fried Chicken. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Joan enjoyed fishing, traveling the world, skiing, flying, and golfing. She especially treasured all the time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Brian Christenson of St. Joseph, Marilyn (Kim) Kryzenski of St. Cloud, and Susan (Milton) Schmidt of St. Cloud; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Lucille Clark; many nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters and brothers, Violet, Lucille, Myrtle, Jean, Archie, Kermit, Lowell, Earl, Orland, and Orville.
