Lewis William Barrow
After a lingering illness covering many years, Lewis William Barrow died at his home in Elliott on April 28, 1927. At the time of his departure his age was 61 years, 6 moths, and 14 days.
He was born in Frederick county, Va., near Winchester,the son of Frederick and Mary Ann Smith BARROW on October 14, 1865, and was the youngest of a family of eleven children, five of whom have preceded him in death.
He came with his parents to Illinois when he was too young to remember the journey. They first came to Bloomington and later moved to a farm near Gibson City.
His marriage to Miss Lou Livingston occurred October 23, 1892. To this union three children were born, all of whom are living. The children are Mrs. Eva Jones of Gibson City; Glenn of Elliott, and William Jr., at home.
He leaves to feel the loss in his going, besides his wife and the children just mentioned, 6 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. S. H. Preston, of Gibson and Mrs. Jennie Jones, of Winnipeg Can., three brothers, Chas. Barrow and Ham Barrow of Gibson City, and John Barrow of Salem, Illinois.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the home in Elliott conducted by Rev. Francis E. Smith pastor of the M.E. church if Gibson City. Burial was in the Gibson City cemetery.
The pallbears were G.L. Preston, Frank Hendricks, John Cameron, W.A. Kreitzer, Charles Cameron and Martin Anderson.
John and Inger Anderson sang a duet and Abel Hanson sang a solo.
