On March 5, 2016, Francis Eugene Hawkins took the Lord's hand and was reunited with his son Kevin in heaven. He was surrounded by his loved ones, never left alone in his final hours. As his wife sat holding his hands, she stared at him and said, "he's a beautiful person". She is so right, we are a better family, better people for having him in our lives.
Francis Hawkins was born on March 2, 1935, married to Jeanne Hawkins on April 2, 1955, had a beautiful daughter Randi on April 18, 1956 and then a beautiful son, Kevin on July 27, 1957. He has two granddaughters, Jenifer and Jamie and three great granddaughters, Sayda, Kamdyn and Kesyn. Family was everything to Francis, he loved them deeply.
Most importantly, he loved his wife, Jeanne with every fiber of his being. They promised to love, honor and cherish each other until death do they part. But their love moves beyond "until death do they part". They have taught their family what it truly means to love and cherish. They have shown us that love is not only about two people but about your family and at the center of that is Christ.
We say goodbye to a great man, a man full of love, generosity, compassion and faith. He is leaving us with a lifetime full of wonderful memories and core values that we can pass on for many generations. We are beyond blessed to have had him in our lives and he will be truly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at The Wentworth at Willow Creek 8325 Highland Drive Sandy, Utah 84093 Activity Room, Second Floor.
