Patsy Marie Granger Allen, 85, of Vinton, passed away suddenly Friday, July 8, 2016.
She was born March 30, 1931, in Niblett's Bluff, and had lived all her life in the Vinton area. She graduated from Vinton High School and worked at the Calcasieu Marine Bank in Vinton before marrying and starting a family.
Pat had a passion for gardening and working in her yard. Most importantly though, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her joy came from spending time with her family, and she dearly loved her extended family and friends. She enjoyed having her family gather at her house for Sunday meals after church, and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Vinton.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jeff D. Allen; son, Doug Allen; grandson, Kyle Broussard; parents, Clarence and Kate Norris Granger; brothers, Bud and Richard Granger; and sister, Evelyn Benoit.
She is survived by her children Brenda Allen Broussard (Kenneth), Donna Allen Trahan (Steve), Jeff C. Allen, and daughter-in-law, Donna Lynn Patrick Allen; grandchildren Lauren Broussard Westmoreland (Daryl), Alisa Trahan Burklow (Jason), Julia Trahan Reed (Jeffrey), Meredith Trahan (fiancé Jordan Ardoin), Clint Allen, Jace Allen, and Jenna Allen; and great-grandchildren Noah, Henry Kyle, and John Davis; sisters-in-law Bobbie Granger and Frances Hilford (Bill).
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home-Vinton with Rev. Bobby Daniels officiating. Visitation will be Monday, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday morning from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
