She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she had served as clerk and held numerous other positions. She and her husband also helped establish the Shallotte Fire Department, and she served as a charter member of the Fire Department Auxiliary. Born a daughter of the late Raymond Ellis and Rosie Fulford Bellamy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Evyleene Bellamy Reeves; a brother, Palmer A. Bellamy; a granddaughter, Natalie Lynn Hughes. Survived by her husband, Daniel, two daughters, three grandsons, two brothers, three sisters. Clara died in Dosher Hospital at age 87.
