John G. Mercer Died Today
John Glasgow Mercer, 51, died unexpectedly of a heart ailment
today at 5:30 A.M. at his residence in New Vienna.
He was born March 27, 1902, in Highland County, the son of Jerry
L. and Alberta McCoy Mercer, and was married December 4, 1930.
A resident of New Vienna for the past 25 years, Mr. Mercer was
engaged in milling and had been employed at the New Vienna
Grain Co.
In addition to his widow, Mrs. Mary Hixson Mercer, he is survived
by two brothers, Irvin of Delaware and Glenn Mercer of Hillsboro.
Services will be conducted by Rev. F. H. Smith Thursday at 2 P.M.
at the Smith Funeral Home, New Vienna.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and
evening.
