HAROLD HEWITT POOL
Mr. Harold Hewitt Pool passed away at the Beaverlodge Hospital, Beaverlodge, Saturday, November 7, 1987 at the age of 77.
Harold was born on September 11, 1910, the first known non-native child to be born in the Beaverlodge area.
Except for the years of World War II, he lived his life in the Beaverlodge area.
He was a member of the Beaverlodge Legion Branch No. 121, South Peace Centennial Museum, served on the Beaverlodge Town Council, on staff at the Beaverlodge Research Station until his retirement, and a member of the Lossing Center. He delivered Meals on Wheels and did many other things in community service.
He is survived by his wife, Norah Louise; daughters: Ann, Pat, Karen: sons: Ted and Colin: 13 grandchildren: 10 great grandchildren; brothers: Lee and Tod; sisters: Yukola and Mina; many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, brother Ralph, infant son, David Lee, grandsons Kevin and Lawrence Mason Steinke; and great-granddaughter, Lindsay Renee Steinke.
A memorial service for the late Harold Hewitt Pool will be held at the Beaverlodge United Church, Beaverlodge, Alberta at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 1987, with Rev. Hubert Butcher officiating. Cremation took place at the Oliver Crematorium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Beaverlodge Hospital, or to the charity of ones choice.
Funeral arrangements are under direction of the Oliver Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Grand Prairie.
