Luella was born in Ballard on February 1, 1928 to James Orvel and Luella Jane Ames. She married the love of her life Dale Workman on March 26, 1946, a union which was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 20, 1984.
Luella was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked in the Vernal Temple until her health would not allow it.
Luella’s family was her greatest treasure, she considered her posterity to be her greatest blessing. She had a talent for creating beautiful things; she enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting. It was often said that she was the best cook in the world.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Workman; children, Chella (Gerald) Wilkerson, both of Duchesne, Dan (Jeannie) Workman, Salt Lake City; Gary Workman, Cheyenne, WY; Luanne (Steve) Fowles, Jeff (Mary) Workman, both of Moorcroft, WY; Ronna (Kirk) Vandever, Victor, CO; Kevin (Angella) Workman, Duchesne; 45 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Kay Nyburg, Sandy; Don (Rachel) Ames, Ioka; and Eva Ivie, Duchesne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rita Workman; brothers, Wayne, Vern, Floyd Eddy, Bert, and George Ames; grandchildren, Cheryl Wilkerson, and Mathew Workman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Duchesne LDS Stake Center with a viewing from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m.
Burial in the Duchesne City Cemetery.
