Coatsburg, Dec. 11. On Thursday morning last A. H. Leach, one of our oldest and most respected citizens passed over the dark river of death and his remains were interred in the village cemetery on Saturday afternoon. Mr. Leach was, 83 years of age and came from near St. Joseph, Mo., during war times, consequently has been a citizen of our town for over thirty years. He was born in Kentucky. He acted as constable and general collector for so many years that he was called "the sheriff of Coatsburg,'' and was always considered the soul of honor. He leaves an aged wife, four sons and four daughters to mourn his loss, all of whom were at his bedside when he died, except the oldest son, John Leach, who lives in Oregon.
