Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 29 at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Bowbells, for Mrs. Alice Westrum, age 93, who died in a Williston hospital. Interment was in the Bowbells Cemetery with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Alice Mary Siverling was born October 11, 1889, in Northwood, Iowa, a daughter of Nicholas and Mary Siverling. She came to North Dakota as a child and lived on a farm north of Bowbells where she was reared. She attended business college in Grand Forks and worked secretary prior to her marriage to Henry Westrum in 1914. They lived at Bowbells until 1916,
then moved to Northgate. They returned to Bowbells in 1926; he died in 1945. From 1948 to she was employed as Burke County auditor. In 1975 she moved to Williston where she had resided until her death.
She was a member of the United Church nd United Methodist Church Women and a life member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors: sons, Donald, Los Altos, California, Robert, Palm Springs, California, Kenneth, Williston; daughters, Mrs. Carmen Melligan, Santa Rosa, California Mrs. Shirley Johnson, Williston; 18 grandchildren r 18 great grandchildren; sister Florence Siverling, Dayton, Ohio.
