Shirley Mae Johnson, Passed away on October 27, 2020 at the age of 90. Shirley was born May 23, 1930 to Henry and Alice Westrum and grew up in Bowbells, North Dakota. It was there that she met her husband of 69 years Kenny Johnson. They made Bowbells their home for 23 years where Shirley was involved in her community in the Order of the Eastern Star, a mother advisor to the Rainbow Girls, a Den Mother to the Cub Scouts, member of a women's bowling league, and Sunday School teacher. Shirley moved to Williston, North Dakota in 1974 when she and Kenny became owner/proprietors of Andy's Men's Store. They happily ran that business until their retirement 26 years later. They were able to enjoy Arizona part-time during those years and eventually make Mesa, Arizona their home in retirement. She enjoyed many hobbies such as playing Bridge with her girlfriends, Gin Rummy with Kenny...that was a long running game! Shirley also enjoyed crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles, cooking, baking, playing piano, sing-a-longs and shared a life-long joy of dancing with her husband. They knew how to "cut a rug"! Shirley and Kenny moved to Minnesota to be closer to family and have made their home in Prior Lake for the past 5 years. There are many words to describe Shirley, gentle, selfless, loving, compassionate, and happy to the end. Shirley was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband Kenny, brother Kenny Westrum (Joyce), children, Deb O'Donnell (Jim), Scott Johnson (Geri), Robin Luchsinger (Bruce), grandchildren, Joe, Darren, Ashley, Austin, Nick, Rachel, Ryan, Chase, Cole and great grandchildren, Kendra, Delaney, Maverick Calvin and Wynn, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life is planned for this coming summer in Bowbells, North Dakota. Thank you from the family to the staff at McKenna Crossing in Prior Lake who have loved and cared beyond measure for our Mom. An additional thank you to those at Interlude in Fridley. Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association, @alz.org.
