Roy B. Austin, 83, died Friday, June 24, 2016 at his home in Bucklin.
He was born July 10, 1932 to George and Lida (Smith) Austin. On October 16, 1955 he married Judith "Judy" Ann Russell at Dodge City. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2016.
He was engaged in farming on the family farm his whole life. He loved volunteering at the high school track meets being the 1st Place picker. He also served on the Bucklin School Board for many years.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Robert and Roger both of Bucklin; a brother Wayne and wife Shirley, Fowler, his sister, Marion McCarty and husband Kenneth, Bucklin and a brother Kenneth and wife Connie, Dodge City; a sister-in-law, Pat Austin, Bucklin; and 3 granddaughters, Courtney, Charmayne and Bretta.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Vicki, 2 sisters, Audrey Richardson and Joanne Austin and 2 brothers, Keith and George.
Funeral will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Bucklin United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Bucklin Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday at Minnis Mortuary, Bucklin.
