Gerald “Stanley” Hopkins, 83, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, MO. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Stanley was born June 10, 1933, in Wishart, Missouri, the son of Oakley and Ruth (Gent) Hopkins. He was a laborer for Rau Construction and a member of the Laborer Union Local 264. Stanley was also a member of the Pioneer Gun Club and American Can Company for 20 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.



His survivors include his wife, Barbara Hopkins of the home; two daughters: Tonda Barnes (Jim) of Oak Grove, and Diana O’Bar (Tim) of Bates City, MO; one sister, Maudette Carns of Visaila, CA; three granddaughters: Shawna Jobe (Kenny) of Odessa, MO, Stanci Snider (Chris) of Lexington, MO, and Shari Taylor (Jeremy) of Oak Grove; eight great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter.
