James O. Lash was the son of George & Emma Davis Lash. Born in Berks County and after his parents died resided with his sister, in Reading, Pa. as 1900 census shows. From his brother George C. Lash Family of Hamburg, James moved in with them after the census and worked as a carriage driver/ herst driver for Hamburg undertaker. For some reason he decided to look for a better life and be on his own. James quite his job and told his brother George he was going to Michigan State. He left and was never heard from again. There were a few James Lash's in this state but none we can connect to this relative. We researched all states and came up with nothing. James is our "Brick Wall" so to speak in my family. He was not married when he left. Family thinks he went by train.
