Anna Elizabeth Fell was the second Anna Elizabeth Fell in her family. She had an older sister of that name, who was born in 1894 and died in 1900. Each of these sisters was probably named after their mother, Anna Elizabeth Klehm Fell.

On the Census, the second Anna Elizabeth Fell was referred to as "Lizzie" or "Elizabeth". On her marriage license to Lawrence Sylvester Gardner on 20 Dec 1923, her name as listed as "Anna Elizabeth Fell". During most of her life, she was called by her middle name, "Elizabeth," and had the nickname, "Tillie". On some records, her name appeared as "Elizabeth J Fell".

She was enrolled as "Elizabeth Fell" in the Old Buck Street School, Paulsboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey from 1919 to 1922, when she graduated. In 1923, she was the Winner of the Popularity contest. She was engaged the same year and married Lawrence Sylvester Gardner (1901-1988) on 20 Dec 1923 in Cattaraugus, New York (see marriage record posted here). They had three sons and a daughter.

ELIZABETH FELL GARDNER, 91, of Paulsboro, died Sunday at Underwood-Memorial Hospital, Woodbury. Mrs. Gardner, a homemaker, was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Paulsboro and of the Women of the Church. She was a charter member of the Paulsboro Golden Age Club. She was also a member of the Paulsboro Senior Citizens Club, the East Greenwich Senior Citizens Club, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 17 in Woodbury, and the Paulsboro Women's Club. Born in Ogden Heights, she had lived in Paulsboro for the last 86 years. She was the widow of Lawrence S.
Survivors: three sons, Lawrence H. and Donald J., both of Paulsboro, and James A. of Rockville, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services: viewing, 10 a.m. tomorrow, Adams-Stiefel Funeral Home, 203 W. Broad St., Paulsboro; funeral, 11 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home; burial, Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
