Melba Daves, 70, of Sweetwater, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 at Abilene Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001 at First Baptist Church in Sweetwater with Dr. Joel McCoy. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories in Sweetwater. Arrangements were made under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.

Mrs. Daves was born Feb. 21, 1931 in Ranger to H. D. & Winona Lanham. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sweetwater where she was a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Bridge Club. She worked and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Drennon Daves of Sweetwater; one daughter, Marsha Otterstedt and husband, Jeff of Granville, Ohio; and two grandsons, Tyler and Kyle Otterstedt of Granville, Ohio.

Pallbearers will be Pat Gerald, Les Wooten, David Welch, Kevin Hutson, Tommy Lancaster and David Green.

The family requests memorials be made to: American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 295, Sweetwater TX 79556 or Susan G. Komen Foundation, Research for Breast Cancer, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 370, Dallas TX 75244.
