Albert Pinkney Hess was born to "Joel" Joseph L. and Mary McAbee Hess in 2-10-1858 in Blount County, Tennessee. He was third of five children and his siblings were: Sandford C., Laura Samantha, Martha, Nancy J., Emma, Texas, and John Franklin.

Albert married Nepthalia M. Crain on 7-25-1879, in White County, Tennessee. There children are: Aaron Columbus, Albert Festo, Dolly, Jennie, Charlie Gay, Furgley, Joe,and Obie Horston Hess.

On 9-8-1898, in Rogers, Texas, Albert was now a widower. Next he married Emma Gaye Smith, who out lived Albert by 28 years. Together they one son, Edward Hess.

On March 2, 1922, in Buckholtz, Texas, Albert Pinkney Hess passed away.
