Homer Allen Lloyd, Jr., age 69 of Jonesboro, AR, departed this life July 1, 2014 at Crestpark nursing home. He was born August 19, 1944 in Madison, AR, to the late Homer A. Lloyd, Sr. and Beulah Lindsey Lloyd. Mr. Lloyd is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Crouse Lloyd; one son, Marion Allen Lloyd; one brother, Bill Lloyd; and, one sister, Betty Jo Webster.
Mr. Lloyd was a retired church of Christ minister and lived most of his life in NE Arkansas. He preached the gospel several places, including Tyronza, AR; Marked Tree, AR; King, NC; Holly Springs, MS; Clarkridge, AR and Evening Shade, AR.
Homer Lloyd is survived by two daughters: Melanie Lloyd of Jonesboro; and Renee (Ralf) Beilhardt of Waynesville, MO; and one grandchild. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters: Walter (Peggy) Lloyd of N Little Rock, AR; Bob Lloyd of Dyersburg, TN; Johnny Lloyd of Bryant, AR; Pat (Harold) Rodman of West Helena, AR; Sue Lloyd Bishop of Palestine, AR; and Etta (Tommy) Wade of Lexa, AR; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Friday, July 4th at Stevens Funeral Home in Forrest City, AR. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, July 5th, with burial to follow at Forrest Park Cemetery.
