Funeral services for Betty D. “Nana” Woods, 77, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Huntington United Methodist Church with Reverend Bill Lanigan and Kathy Dunn officiating. Services will then be held at 2:30 p.m. at the McAdams Chapel in the McAdams Cemetery in Huntsville, with interment following the services. Mrs. Woods was born May 18, 1939 in Grapeland, Texas to the late William Gray Darsey, Jr. and Roberta (Deerman) Darsey, and died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at her residence with family and her faithful dog, Sue. Mrs. Woods had resided in Huntington since 1967. She attended the University of Honolulu (formerly Mid Pacific Institute) in 1958, and also attended Blinn College, where she met the love of her life, Alvin D. “PeeWee” Woods. Mrs. Woods was owner and operator of A&B Trailer Park and managed the Woody Woodpecker Day Care. She was a devoted wife, mother and Nana. She enjoyed spending time with family and gambling on the boats in Shreveport. Mrs. Woods was a member of Huntington United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George and Lisa Woods of Lufkin; daughter, Omega Lout of Huntington; grandchildren, Robecca Faye Woods, Ashley Woods Franz and husband Josh, Cody Lynn Parker, Shawn Allen Woods and wife Ashlie, and William Devan Lout; great-grandchildren, Katelynn Rector, Kallie Rector, Klayton Woods, Bryce Franz, Ashlynn Franz, Joshua Carlin, Braden Carlin, and Carlee Cooper Lout; brother, William “Bill” Darsey III and wife Shirley; extended family, Regina Sheffield and her children, Clayden Broyles, Kayla Van Natta, and Leeana “Meanness” Van Natta, Connie Clark, and Terry Parker; lifelong friends, Mildred Forrest, Othal Lowery, Carol Pinner, Marian Sheffield, and Mary Green; her blue healer, Sue; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 49 years, Alvin D. “PeeWee” Woods; grandson, George Woods, Jr.; and son-in-law, Jimmy Devan Lout. Pallbearers will be Shawn Woods, Rig Darsey, Clayden Broyles, Michael Woods, Devan Lout, Steve Bolt, Bryce Franz, Joshua Carlin, and Braden Carlin. Honorary pallbearers will be “The Dirty Dozen”. The family extends special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Woods. Memorial contributions may be made to Huntington United Methodist Church, P.O.
