James Wyatt Brown was the son of Francis Marion Brown and Junattie Etta Alexander. He married Fannie Marcum.

James Wyatt Brown, age 82, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Meeks in Burnside, Saturday, July 9th, following a sickness of some time.

Mr. Brown was a native of Monticello but had been living in Burnside for many years, where his wife died some years ago. He operated a restaurant for some time there.

He is survived by one son, Pleas Brown, of New Albany, Indiana, and five daughters, being, Mesdames Emma Meeks of Burnside, Lexie Lee of Somerset, Allie Queen of Albany, Dora Davis, Louisville, and Lois Doss, Indianapolis.

Funeral services were held at the Meeks home in Burnside, Monday afternoon at 2:00 conducted by Rev. Charles Graves with the grandsons as casket bearers.

Burial was at the Alexander Cemetery with the Richard R. Lee Funeral Home in charge.
