On February 12, 1931, Mrs. Nancy E. Wright, after only two days illness of pneumonia, fell asleep in Jesus. Her death came as a shock to all. Everything that the kind hands of loved ones could do was done, but the Angel of death was hanging over the home, and silently, gently, and tenderly He caught the spirit of our dear one and bore it to heaven: to that home not made with hands, which was awaiting her.

Mrs. Wright was the daughter of Marion and Janetta Brown, of Monticello, Ky; was born January 17, 1864, and died February 12, 1931.

She joined New Hope Baptist church in Wayne county, Kentucky, when just a girl 16 years of age. How sweet to know that the most of her life was lived for her Master whom she loved and served so faithfully.

She was united in marriage to James P. Wright April 10, 1890. This union was blessed with eight children, five girls and three boys. Of these, three girls passed on in childhood; and there remain to mourn their loss, the kind and faithful husband, J.P. Wright, three loving sons - Charles, John Wright of Louisville, Ky., and Willis Wright of Indianapolis, Ind., two kind and devoted daughters, Mrs. Bertha Johnson of Indianapolis, Ind., and Miss Della Wright of Louisville.

There are 12 grand-children and one great grand-child. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. M. Sexton, of Monticello: three brothers, Messrs. William, Hale and Wyatt Brown.

Funeral services were held at the home, 1575 East Washington street, conducted by her pastor, Rev. L. C. Wray, of the Franklin Street Baptist church. The funeral text, Proverbs 31, spoke for itself as to the kind of a Christian her life she had lived. All who knew her knew her life was one filled with good and kind deeds all done in her Savior's name.

Her church membership was removed from Monticello Baptist Church to this church, where her faithfulness and loyalty to Christ won the love of all who knew her. Yes, just to know her was to love her. And while our dear ones are grief stricken over their loss, may they remember that their loss is heaven's gain, that this dear wife and mother is not dead only gone to be with Jesus whom she loved and served so well. We must look beyond the veil of this life into that sweet beyond, which we call Heaven, where broken family circles will be unknown and where death or sorrow never comes, but where all peace and joy.

Her life of Christian service will ever be a living memento to lead you on to a sweeter, brighter clime than this, where once more we can look upon that dear face, behold the sweet smile and hear again that gentle voice as she welcomes us home, when one by one we have finished the journey of life and done as she has— answered the roll-call in Heaven.

The interment was made in the beautiful cemetery of Rest Haven and there, beneath a bower of beautiful flowers, we left our dear one, to await the coming of Jesus. He will comfort and keep you, and when we are prone to think of our great loss, let's just remember these lines:

O, the joy that there awaits us
When we reach the other shore
And clasp the hand of loved ones
To part from them no more
